“Documenting the coast of an island that was once home, my subject is ever changing. I try to imagine what the future holds as climate change impacts our world. My camera and journal note the ocean’s impact and take in what I see and feel. Through challenging storms, heat, drought, and high tides, By Way of the Ocean, is a deep rooted search from my past histories to what I witness today. Experiencing the power, beauty, chaos and calm of water—a source of spiritual energy, I visualize images that inspire my stone work. This unique perspective of the land I know through my adventure-driven self seeks to portray the power of the ocean through my photography and sculpture.”
