Art News

It’s been an eventful Autumn. Everything just seemed to fall into place. My art classes and workshops are going well and my own personal work is moving forward. I’m also finding a little energy to include my passion for cycling. Nothing like a crisp bike ride to collect your thoughts and get a great workout in!

Entries by Roxbury Tenants of Harvard

My room with a view of the moon!

“A Room of Your Own” after the 1929, Virginia Woolf published essay, “A Room of One’s Own” in which she discusses a women’s need for independence and her own creative space. The entries by my group at Roxbury Tenants of Harvard were created in class over a month. The idea of working with a simple cardboard box brought me right back to my childhood. Everyone did a beautiful job. Many thanks to all for this great community project! You can see the entire collection here: http://missionhillartists.wordpress.com/art-gallery-a-room-of-your-own-show-is-up-until-january-52015/

Upcoming: I am curating a show of arts and crafts by Roxbury Tenants of Harvard. It will be exciting to finally see their paintings up in the gallery. On display will also be an assortment of handmade crafts just in time for the holidays! Opening Reception is December 17, 4-6pm, Flynn Gallery, 805 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA.

Other news: My sculpture, “Taking Flight” is now part of the permanent collection of Salida Council for the Arts in Salida, Colorado. The work was inspired by nature while working in the heart of the Rocky Mountains during Terraphilia Art Residency where I documented my progress and took many photographs. It was amazing.
